Welcome Claudio to our team!
Please join us in welcoming Claudio Godines Garcia to the Coastside Hope team. As many of you know, Julie Rupert, Food Program Manager is retiring at the end of the month.
My name is Claudio Godines Garcia. I was born in Oaxaca, Mexico in 1988. I lived in Mexico for seventeen years. Back in Mexico, I went to school from kindergarten to Elementary School. I remember waking up early on weekends and sometimes weekdays to help my grandparents pick crops such as corn, squash, and flowers to sell. Every day, mornings and afternoons, I would help feed the goats they had on their property. Those are beautiful memories that I have. I have always wanted to help my family economically. So, I studied as much as possible at school to finish with good grades and help around the house as much as I can.
At the age of seventeen, I moved to the United States in 2005, specifically Half Moon Bay. My first job here was as a dishwasher while I was in High School. I graduated from Half Moon Bay high school in 2008 and decided to attend College of San Mateo (CSM). After completing CSM, I transferred to San Francisco State and majored in Molecular Biology.
In my free time I like to read books. I really enjoy reading self-help, science fiction, mathematics, and especially science related books. I also like to play soccer. When I have some time off, I like to take my son to the soccer field. Almost everyday I walk with my kids around our neighborhood in the afternoon which I really enjoy.
I am excited to join the Coastside Hope team and look forward to working with all of you and our community.
