We rely on your donations for 20% of our annual funding. Thank you.
Thanks to you, we are here to help our neighbors.
Homeless neighbors like JoAnne and her daughter Lisa. When Lisa told a Good Samaritan that she hadn’t eaten that day and her mother told her to “drink water” when she was hungry, our phone rang. Thanks to your donations, caring case manager Ali was here to put together a food bundle from the emergency pantry and dash out to make contact. Working together with other agencies, Ali ensured that Lisa is no longer hungry and that JoAnne is receiving treatment for PTSD. Thanks to your support, our case managers are here to provide Coastsiders like JoAnne and Lisa access to needed services and to help navigate past crisis to recovery.
At Coastside Hope “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” isn’t just a tagline. Our staff lives on the Coast, and neighborhood volunteers donate more than 5,000 hours yearly.
Coastside Hope serves our neighbors according to our guiding principle of necessities for today, opportunities for tomorrow. We are designated by San Mateo County as the primary community assistance agency for providing safety-net social services such as food, shelter, and clothing for the mid-coast, stretching from Montara to Half Moon Bay.
We offer hope to families of the working poor, the needy, the homeless, and seniors living below the poverty line – hope for a better life and a more secure future. In 2013, we helped more than 15% of the mid-coast population—that’s more than 3,500 people, including over 1,500 children.
Community donations from good neighbors like you provide 20% of our funding in an average year. For small organizations like ours, every gift matters. Whether it’s $10 or $1,000, your donation will help us help neighbors in need.
