“Delores has lived on the Coastside since 1984, when her husband transferred to California with his job in biotech. After deciding to be a stay-at-home mom in order to be available for her daughter and her daughter’s classmates as needed (especially for transportation), Delores looked for volunteer opportunities to fill her time. Volunteering let her meet many fantastic people from all over the Coast. Being able to pick and choose one’s jobs is a big perk of volunteering! But being asked to take on something new also has its rewards as new skills are developed. All in all, being a volunteer is a very satisfying position that Delores highly recommends.”
