Tuesday, May 5th is Cinco de Mayo—but it’s also the Second Annual SV Gives online telethon, sponsored by Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Microsoft, and other local corporations.

Neighbors like Irma. Local senior Irma had serious health issues—so serious, she was told by her doctors that she would never be able to return home. So before going to surgery, she sold all her possessions. Happily, the doctor’s pessimism was unfounded—Irma recovered and returned home to an empty house.
Irma called her case manager at Coastside Hope and asked for help. Through Facebook and personal contacts, we put out the word to you, our good neighbors, and to other Coastside agencies. And you responded—calls and emails quickly came in offering clothing, household goods, and furnishings. Thanks to you, Irma has clothes to wear and a bed to sleep in. Thank you good neighbors!
