Our People

Meet Our Board

Coastside Hope is governed by a volunteer Board that represents a cross-section of the Coastside community.
President

Nancy Marsh

After retiring from the healthcare industry, Nancy began volunteering in the food distribution and Adopt-A-Family programs. She joined the Board in 2019 and led the effort to relocate and renovate the organization’s new home in Half Moon Bay. She finds her involvement with Coastside Hope very rewarding, recognizing its critical role in strengthening the fabric of our community by helping everyone to thrive here. She lives in El Granada with her husband and two border collies and serves on the Board of the Granada Community Services District.
Vice President

Steve Hurbult

Steve spent 25 years as a collegiate athletics administrator and the past 20 years as a sports broadcasting executive on the college and professional level. He moved to the Coast in 2018 and started volunteering with Coastside Hope's food programs shortly thereafter. When the pandemic hit, Steve's role increased as COVID wrecked havoc on many of our Coastside neighbors who looked for support from Coastside Hope. Steve joined the board in 2022. He continues to work with our food programs and is also on the Membership and PR/Marketing Committees.
Treasurer

John Brusher

John and his wife MaryJane believe in supporting their community. John, retired from a career in corporate finance, was previously Treasurer for a non-profit assisting the food insecure in Grass Valley, CA. Moving Coastside, he volunteered at Coastside Hope for the Senior Brown Bag, Family Harvest, Adopt-a-Family and the Backpack Project. As he learned more about Coastside Hope and its community focused programs John inquired about joining the Board. He did last April and was elected Treasurer in June.
Secretary

Sandra Adams

A retired finance and audit executive, Sandra began volunteering at Coastside Hope shortly after moving to Half Moon Bay in 2014 and joined the Board the following year. She is grateful to be part of the organization that provides food and other basic necessities to our low-income neighbors in the coastside community. Sandra and her husband of 30 years share two adult children and a Boxer-Dachshund rescue dog named Ladybug. She also leads hikes with the Coastside Women’s Club.
