April 12, 2015 Mullin’s Bar & Grill: A brilliant sun and blue skies completed the gorgeous setting for the first Bocce By The Sea fundraiser for Coastside Hope. Good friends, both old and new, came together to raise more than $2,500 dollars for Coastside Hope’s safety net programs. The casual sophistication of Mullin’s was a perfect fit for Coastsiders at play. A delicious hamburger dinner, a no-host bar, and four Bocce courts lay ready at 4 pm.
By 4:30 more than sixty supporters and Bocce enthusiasts filled the courts with a spirit of fun and camaraderie. Bocce master Anthony Maestrini explained the rules to the many Bocce rookies, set up the ladder, and the tournament was underway! After two hours of good-natured competition, the championship trophies went to the winning team of Mike & Susie Montgelas, Linda Morasch, & George Alexsovich. According to Bocce tradition, each member of the first & second place teams was awarded a bottle of fine wine.
We are grateful to our generous hosts at Mullin’s, our event sponsors, our silent auction donors, and our HMB high school interact club volunteers for making this event possible. Special thanks to Silver Sponsors Pat & Marc Strohlein, and to our Bronze Sponsors George Alexsovich, Steve & Bonnie Anderson, Nancy Harman, Heidi Kuiper, Eliza & Chris Manchester, and Bob & Sandy Meyers. Thank you to our silent auction prize donors Mrs. Dimiti Berkner, Laurie McKinney, Barbara Wood, The Ritz-Carlton, Sam’s Chowder House, and the Half Moon Bay Brewing Co. Thank you to our kind supporters who turned out to eat & compete, to laugh and play with so many other good-hearted people. Together, we raised more than $2,500 for Coastside Hope’s safety net programs. Thank you.
